What can we learn from Latin America’s most successful women? What did they do? How did they do it? And what can they tell us about making it to the top?

While women are taking on more senior roles across Latin America, there is still a long way to go before women achieve equality in leadership.

Research by Grant Thornton shows the proportion of women in senior management roles in Latin America climbed 8 percentage points between 2019 and 2020—the biggest increase globally. Yet women still only hold just 33% of top roles.

There is much to gain from greater gender parity. According to PwC, if all member countries of the OECD—which includes Colombia, Costa Rica, and Mexico—increased their female labor force participation rate to match that of Sweden (80%), GDP would rise by more than $6 trillion.

In this video series, we talk to women who have defied the odds to make it to the C-suite and boardroom. These are the women who broke the glass ceiling. These are women who made it happen.
